The Project

This year I had the incredible opportunity to work with the Spotify team to bring Spotify Wrapped to life where an estimated 200 million users worldwide will explore their 2023 listening trends.

The Challenge

I, alongside Myles Robinette and Deejay Forte, co-led the motion development of the entire Wrapped experience by taking designs made by the Brand & Creative team and bringing them to life. The UX Motion Team managed both the animation of brand visualizations and the creation of the animated Data-Stories; maintaining their file size below 50kb to ensure a seamless performance on new and older iOS and Android devices and web. We then converted our After Effects files into code and handed it off to Engineering for implementation.

In total— 80 teams across Product Design, Engineering, Branding & Creative, Marketing, Legal, Licensing, and various other departments collaborated together to make this year’s Wrapped possible.

The Results

We created a Wrapped experience like no other. The feedback that year on all of the different data stories and overall experience was really cool to see at a global scale.
